Azerbaijan sharply increases export of hazelnuts to 2 countries

Azerbaijan exported 12,919 tons of hazelnuts (shelled and unshelled) worth $64.32 million in January-July 2023, respectively, up 21% and 8.3% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

Below is the list of countries that imported hazelnuts from Azerbaijan in the reporting period:

- Russia – 6,274 tons (+64%) worth $28.5 million (+42%);

- Germany – 2,327 tons (+39%) worth $13.12 million (+24%);

- Italy – 1,607 tons (-57%) worth $9 million (-62%);

- Switzerland – 780 tons (+5.6%) worth $4.7 million (+5.5%);

- Türkiye – 376 tons (+18 times) worth $1.91 million (+18 times).

Russia accounted for 52.5% of the 21,900 tons of hazelnuts Azerbaijan exported to 22 countries in 2022.
