Azerbaijan sharply increases chicken meat imports from two countries

In January-April 2025, Azerbaijan imported 11,139 tons of chicken meat (fresh or chilled, frozen) worth $17.2 million, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

This is 3% less in value and 9.4% more in quantity than the same period in 2024.

During the specified period, Azerbaijan imported 5,359 tons (+16%) of the product worth $8.5 million (+16%) from Ukraine, 2,850 tons (-11%) worth $4.5 million (-27%) from Russia, 2,219 tons (+2.6 times) worth $2.42 million (+90%) from Belarus, 260 tons (+3.3 times) worth $734,000 (+3 times) from Uzbekistan, and 273 tons (-80%) worth $697,000 (-74%) from Georgia.

Ukraine accounted for 42.5% of the 38,534 tons of chicken meat imported to Azerbaijan in 2024, and Russia accounted for 34.4%.
