Azerbaijan resumes pear imports from 4 countries

During the first seven months of 2022, Azerbaijan imported 2,023 tons of pears for $1.826 million, up 11.7% and 11.2%, respectively, from the previous year, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.

Azerbaijan imported 1,282 tons (15.3% less than a year ago) of pears for $1.154 million from Belgium (-16%), 312.37 tons (+4 times) for $281,130 (+4 times) from Turkiye, 224.53 tons (+43.6%) for $202,260 (+29%) from South Africa, 78.62 tons for $70,760 from Poland, 58.24 tons for $58,240 from Portugal, 2.56 tons for $2,310 from China, 2.24 tons for $2,020 from Chile and 0.03 tons (- 99.9 %) from the Netherlands for $730 (-98.6%).

After a break of nine years and 2 months, the supply was resumed from Poland, after 3 years and 4 months from China, after 1 year and 9 months from Chile, and after 1 year and 3 months from Portugal.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 1,793 tons (+29.6%) of pears for $1.258 million (+30%).

Azerbaijan sold 1,760 tons (+31%) of pears worth $1.247 million (+30.3%) to Russia and 33.51 tons (+50%) worth $11,590 (+41.5%) to Kazakhstan.
