Azerbaijan more than doubles barley export to main supply market

Azerbaijan exported 17,427 tons (+93.8%) of barley worth $3,632,000 (+2.1 times) in January-July 2022, Report informs, citing the data of the State Statistical Committee.

In the reporting period, 16,784 tons (+2.3 times) worth $3.51 million (+2.5 times) were sold to Iraq, 568.8 tons (+30 %) worth $108,100 (+24%) to Iran, 75 tons of products worth $18,750 to the United Arab Emirates ( UAE).

This year, barley was exported to the UAE for the first time in the last 11 years (note: publicly available official statistics on foreign trade are up to 2011).

As in the previous year, during the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported barley only from Russia (833.7 tons (-94% ) worth $353,280 (-87.3%).

Iraq accounted for 91% of the 36,359 tons of barley exported by Azerbaijan to 4 countries in 2021.
