Azerbaijan increases export of pasta to key supply market by 92 times

Azerbaijan exported 213 tons of pasta (except couscous) worth $118,140 in January of this year, up 2.2 times and 76%, respectively, from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

Over the reporting period, 138 tons (+92 times) of products were exported to Georgia for $82,000 (+164 times), 75 tons (no exports last year) to Iraq for $36,120, and 90 kg (-99.9%) to Russia for $60 (-99.9%).

Some 92.4% of the 2,306 tons of pasta exported from Azerbaijan to 14 countries last year were imported by Georgia.

In January of this year, Azerbaijan imported 774 tons (-24%) of pasta worth $1.1 million (+2.6%).

Over the reporting period, 453 tons (-27%) of products were purchased from Turkiye for $456,000 (-6%), 137 tons (-58%) from Russia for $297,000 (-37%), 119 tons (+259 times) from Italy for $185,000 (+219 times), 30 tons (-8%) from Ukraine for $63,420 (-10.6%), 12 tons (no imports last year) from Georgia for $50,000.
