Azerbaijan earns over $2.8M from onion exports

During the first three quarters of 2022, Azerbaijan exported 10,945 tons of onions for $2.851 million, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, these figures are 20% and 23.6% less year-on-year.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 6,949 tons (+6.7 times) of onions to Georgia for $1.329 million (7.3 times more than a year ago), 2,759 tons (-55.4%) to Russia for $1.194 million (-54.8%), 850.39 tons (-17.8%) to Ukraine for $239,580 (+31 %), 230.19 tons to Belarus for $57,950, 64.8 tons to Lithuania for $14,100, 18.8 tons to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for $2,820, 23.9 tons (-93.5 %) to Iraq for $3,580 (-93.2%), and 47.8 tons to Pakistan for $8,130.

At the same time, Azerbaijan imported 205.21 tons (-98.3%) of onions for $84,100 (-98.2%).

Azerbaijan bought 192.1 tons (-98%) of onions from Russia for $76,840 (-97.9%) and 13.11 tons (-4.9%) from the Netherlands for $7,210 (-4.9%).
