Azerbaijan begins urea exports to Canada

In January-February 2025, Azerbaijan exported 122,361 tons of urea, valued at $36 million, marking a year-on-year increase of 5.4% in volume and 72% in value, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
During this period, Azerbaijan sold urea to:
- Ukraine: 113,810 tons (+2.7 times) worth $33.67 million (+4 times);
- Romania: 5,072 tons (-82%) worth $1.36 million (-70%);
- Türkiye: 3,015 tons (-93%) worth $814,000 (-89%);
- Canada: 463.6 tons worth $139,100.
In 2025, Azerbaijan exported urea to Canada for the first time in 14 years, based on publicly available foreign trade statistics dating back to 2011.
Overall, 564,922 tons of urea were exported from Azerbaijan in 2024, of which 50% went to Ukraine.
