The tourism opportunities of Azerbaijan are showcased in a national stand at the Kazakhstan International Tourism Fair (KITF), the leading tourism exhibition of Central Asia, held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, which was organized by the State Tourism Agency and the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau and will be held on April 23–26, Report informs, citing the agency.
A total of 9 industrial partners, including Azerbaijan Airlines JSC, Shahdag Tourism Center, hotels, and tourism agencies, represent Azerbaijan at the national stand, covering an area of 92 m2. At the exhibition, B2B meetings related to the promotion of the country's tourism are held, and opportunities for cooperation are discussed.
Visitors to Azerbaijan’s stand get acquainted with the history, national cuisine, traditions, cultural heritage of the country, and historical monuments included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and are informed in detail about various tourism opportunities. They are offered local tourism experiences, including scenic hiking routes of the Caucasus Mountains, ecotours, visits to hot thermal springs, and tours to therapeutic resorts operating in Azerbaijan.
On the opening day of the exhibition, the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau acted as a national representative at the panel session dedicated to the development of cross-country tourism.
The number of citizens of Kazakhstan who visited Azerbaijan in January–March of this year was 16,522, which is 2.35 times more than in the same period last year.
