Tour operators in Russia have not received complaints from Russian tourists in Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
"Tour operators who are members of the association working with this destination have not received complaints from clients or requests for early return from Azerbaijan. Booking cancellations are still isolated cases," the association noted.
According to ATOR, there are currently about 250 organized tourists from Russia in Azerbaijan.
About 180,000 Russians visited Azerbaijan in January-April 2025. According to ATOR experts, the share of organized tourists in this flow is about 2.5%.
On Wednesday, the Russian Embassy in Baku stated that Russian citizens in Azerbaijan, including for tourism purposes, allegedly reported that their documents were checked, they were asked about the purpose of their stay in Azerbaijan, and physical violence was used against them.
In response, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan issued a statement calling these claims by the Russian embassy unfounded.
