Number of int’l flights from Azerbaijan up by nearly 21%

As many as 14,915 flights were carried out from Azerbaijan to 36 foreign countries in the first seven months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country’s State Tourism Agency.

The obtained data represents an increase of 4 countries (12.5%) and 2,546 flights (20.6%) when compared to the same period in 2023.

During this period, 4,342 flights were carried out from Azerbaijan to Russia, marking an 11.6% increase from last year.

In July alone, the number of flights from Azerbaijan was 2,645, which is a 12.6% increase. Specifically, 718 flights were carried out to Russia in July, reflecting a 10.1% increase from July 2023.

Over the course of seven months, after Russia, the most flights conducted from Azerbaijan were to Türkiye, with 3,322 flights, which is 7.2% more than the previous year.

The United Arab Emirates entered the top three destinations with 1,752 flights, showing an increase of 33.1%.

Other notable destinations include Georgia with 1,163 flights (35% more), Saudi Arabia with 508 flights (4.9% less), Kazakhstan with 460 flights (5% more), India with 373 flights (7.4 times more), Qatar with 345 flights (63.5% more), Kuwait with 248 flights (24.6% more), and Uzbekistan with 246 flights (56% less).
