Number of hotels, hotel-type facilities in Azerbaijan grows over 6%

As of January 1 of this year, there were 859 hotel-type facilities in Azerbaijan, which is 6.2% more compared to the same period last year, Report informs referring to the State Statistics Committee.

Over the year, the one-time capacity of these facilities increased by 13.4% to 67,376, and the number of rooms increased by 10.7% to 31,750.

During the reporting period, the number of people accommodated in hotels and hotel-type facilities amounted to 2.38 million, which is 22.4% more in annual comparison.

Last year, the number of employees of hotels and hotel-type facilities increased by 11.7% compared to the previous year, reaching 15,202 people.
