In January-April this year, Azerbaijan was visited by 330,600 foreigners and stateless persons from 151 countries, or twice more than in the same period last year, Report informs referring to the State Statistics Committee.
Some 26.2% came from Russia, 25.3% from Turkiye, 14.7% from Iran, 6.1% from Georgia, 3.2% from Ukraine, 2.6% from Saudi Arabia, 2.4 % from UAE, 1.9% each frpm India and Pakistan, 1.5% from Kazakhstan, 1.3% from Kuwait, 1.2% from the UK, 11.7% from other countries. Men accounted for some 80.3% of the arrivals, and women were responsible for 19.7%.
Compared with January-April 2021, the number of arrivals increased by 2.7 times and amounted to 16,000 people from the member countries of the European Union, by 2.6 times, to 73,200 people, from the countries of Persian Gulf, and by 1.8 times, to 110,700 people from the CIS states.
According to the data, 52% of foreigners and stateless persons arriving in Azerbaijan used air transport, 46% used rail and road, 2% used sea transport.
