Minister: Rural tourism in Azerbaijan has great potential 

"Rural tourism is one of the areas with great potential for the development of the non-oil sector in Azerbaijan," Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov said at a seminar on "Development of rural areas in Azerbaijan and establishment of the National Agro-Ecotourism System," Report informs.

According to him, the seminar's purpose is to exchange views on the development potential of agritourism in the country and works done and to be done in this field: "The development of rural areas, especially revival of the rural tourism is one of the actual issues today. President Ilham Aliyev is conducting serious reforms to develop the non-oil sector. As a result of these reforms, the agrarian sector is developing dynamically. The development of agriculture stimulates the development of not only science, education, employment, innovation, and trade but also tourism. Development of the rural development will also have a positive impact on the rise in employment level in regions and increase in the incomes of farm owners. The agro-ecotourism projects that we implement will contribute to the revival of domestic tourism."
