The selection of the cities of Erzurum (Türkiye) and Shusha as tourism capitals of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) for 2025–2026 will contribute to the development of regional tourism cooperation, ECO Secretary General Khusrav Noziri told journalists in Baku Thursday, Report informs.
He said that in the background of cooperation in the field of tourism, every year the ECO has a new initiative to announce tourism capitals: "This year, the city of Shahrisabz of Uzbekistan bears this status. In 2025 and 2026, respectively, the cities of Erzurum of Türkiye and Shusha of Azerbaijan will receive the status of the official ECO tourism capital. 2026 will further contribute to the development of regional tourism cooperation."
