Kazakhstan has proposed dedicating ski competitions among children from Eurasian Mountain Resort Alliance countries to the memory of Hokuma Aliyeva, Azerbaijan's National Hero. The proposal was presented by Kazakhstan's Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports, Yerzhan Yerkinbayev, during the Eurasian Mountain Tourism Forum in Shahdag, according to Report.
Yerzhan Yerkinbayev emphasized that the competition is held every two years at ski resorts. "She is a true hero, who saved lives with her professionalism and dedication," he said.
Hokuma Aliyeva, a senior flight attendant for Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), died in the crash of an Embraer E190 aircraft during the Baku-Grozny flight. For her bravery in rescuing passengers during the catastrophe, she was posthumously awarded the title of National Hero of Azerbaijan.
