Hotels in Bulgaria resorts to accept tourists without COVID certificates

The Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism has published sanitary protocols for the country’s ski resorts, according to which tourists don’t need a COVID-19 vaccination certificate or PCR tests to check in at a hotel, Report informs referring to the protocol.

Wearing masks, social distancing and hand hygiene remain relevant for accommodation facilities and guests.

If a tourist develops symptoms of coronavirus, he or she is isolated in a separate hotel room, but the hotel itself will not be quarantined.

“The hotelier needs to provide a suspected COVID patient with a doctor for a full examination, as well as an individual employee who has completed a full course of vaccination against COVID-19,” the protocol says.

According to the document, the transfer of tourists to ski resorts is also carried out in compliance with all anti-epidemiological safety measures.

On the lifts, tourists must also observe sanitary measures, but the number of passengers in closed cabins can be regulated by the cable car operator.

In spas and other recreational facilities of ski resorts in Bulgaria, tourists will still have to present a vaccination certificate or PCR tests done no earlier than 72 hours before arriving at the resort. Alternatively, a rapid test taken no earlier than 48 hours before the visit is suitable. Certificates are not required for persons under 18 years of age.

In restaurants and cafes, certificates will not be required, but sanitary safety measures must be observed. The same applies to travel by public transport and taxis, as well as pharmacies and shops.

The official opening of the ski season will take place on December 18 in Bansko town.
