Flow of tourists from Azerbaijan up by 20%

In January-July 2023, the total number of Azerbaijani citizens who traveled to foreign countries made up 993,500 people, up 19.8% from a year earlier, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

In the reporting period, the number of people going to Russia increased by 1.6 times, to Georgia by 32.5%, to Türkiye by 6.45, and to Iran decreased by 24.7%. About 42.5% of Azerbaijanis traveling abroad visited Türkiye, 22.7% Russia, 9.2% Georgia, 7.7% Iran, and 17.9% other countries.

Also, 66.5% of those going abroad were men, while 33.5% were women. Some 68% of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad used air, 29.3% railway and automobile, and 2.7% sea transport.
