Azerbaijan is an important tourism market for Bulgaria with growth potential, the country’s Ministry of Tourism told Report.
“The Ministry of Tourism will put its efforts into promoting Bulgaria as a year-round destination, with favorable conditions for practicing various types of tourism based on the abundance of our tourism assets, as Bulgaria boasts a combination of cultural heritage, mountains, sea, and mineral waters. Our country has 54 spa resorts, which offer rehabilitation and physiotherapy, and refined relaxation to their guests,” the ministry noted.
“Before the Pandemic, Buta Airways, which is a subsidiary of AZAL – Azerbaijan Airlines, was conducting regular flights between Baku and Sofia which stimulated the tourist flows. Although currently there is no information when the air services will be restored, we believe that it will happen as soon as most travel restrictions Covid-19 health protocols are lifted.”
