Azerbaijan will participate in the 25th-anniversary session of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) General Assembly, which will be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on October 16-20 this year, Report informs, referring to the Uzbek press.
The heads of tourism organizations and departments of countries such as Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, Albania, Bahamas, Bahrain, Guatemala, Haiti, Côte d'Ivoire, Indonesia, Monaco, Niger, Panama, Portugal, Sierra Leone, Ukraine, Uruguay and Yemen are expected to visit Samarkand for the session.
The session of UNWTO held every 2 years is expected to be attended by government bodies, heads of international organizations and representatives of tourism business from about 160 countries.
For the first time in the history of Uzbekistan, it receives the guests of the UNWTO session, which is considered the most important event of the UN General Assembly system.
