Azerbaijan represented at Silk Road conference in China

The State Tourism Agency is represented at the International Forum on the Development of Culture and Tourism of the Silk Road Cities and the annual conference of the International Tourism Alliance of the Silk Road Cities, held in Kunming (China) on September 19-21, Report informs referring to the agency.

The event was organized on the occasion of the first anniversary of the establishment of the International Tourism Alliance of the Silk Road Cities.

Chairman of the Board of the Center for Management of Nature Reserves under the State Tourism Agency Murad Agabayli at the first meeting of the alliance emphasized the importance of supporting the development of sustainable tourism along the historical Silk Road and spoke about the prospects of Azerbaijan in this area.

The panel sessions and business meetings included presentations about the city of Shaki, which is the bearer of the Silk Road heritage, and the National Historical and Architectural Reserve "Yukhari Bash", included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
