Tourism between Azerbaijan and India is annually developing. The countries intend to develop cooperation in the health tourism sector, Report informs, citing Indian ambassador to Azerbaijan Bawitlung Vanlalvawna speaking at an event dedicated to India’s National Tourism Day, celebrated on January 25.
"This is a holiday that unites all the people, history and culture of India. Tourism is one of the important areas in the country's economy and opens up new opportunities for work and development. Tourists from many countries, including Azerbaijan, visit our country," the ambassador said.
According to him, about 70,000 Indian tourists visited Azerbaijan in 2019, but not many Azerbaijani tourists visit India.
"We hope that such events will inspire Azerbaijanis to visit India," the ambassador said, noting that the tourism sector between Azerbaijan and India is annually developing. At the same time, health tourism is one of the main areas that is very popular and has undergone a great transformation over the past two years.
"We hope that Azerbaijanis will be able to take advantage of all the tourism opportunities that our country presents," summed up Bawitlung Vanlalvawna.
