The basketball tournaments at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games have witnessed an unprecedented surge in attendance, setting a new record in the history of the sport at the quadrennial event.
A staggering 1,078,319 spectators flocked to the arenas to witness the world's best basketball players in action, according to Report, which cites the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
This impressive turnout surpasses the previous record set at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, which drew 1,068,032 fans.
The men's tournament, featuring iconic NBA stars and rising international talents, attracted an average of 21,711 spectators per game. The women's event, equally captivating, saw an average of 19,763 fans per match.
