Sadig Aliyev: About 400,000 people were provided with jobs in Azerbaijan in 2024

If 150,000 citizens were covered by active employment measures in 2015-2020, the figure reached about 400,000 people in 2024, the Chairman of the State Employment Agency under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Sadig Aliyev, said at the international conference on "Adaptation of social protection systems in the context of the challenges of the modern world," Report informs.

According to Aliyev, in just one year, 400,000 citizens were involved in active employment measures:

"This is the result of both the expansion of digital management capabilities and the provision of services in a human-oriented and flexible manner. We are taking both strategic thinking and operational steps to ensure sustainability in the social protection and employment system. Because we know that a strong employment system is the foundation of a strong welfare society."

The agency chairman noted that over the past eight years, 2 million people have been provided with employment:

"Currently, vocational training is being carried out in 175 areas. More than 1,300 vocational standards have already been approved. Certain measures have also been taken in the direction of informal employment."

According to him, one of the main challenges in 2025-2027 is to further expand employment-related work and apply new solutions:

"Our main challenge during this period is to implement self-employment programs within the framework of the state program for the Great Return."
