Today, 17 Women's Resource Centers operate in Azerbaijan, and 9 of them are registered as non-governmental organizations, Sabina Talyshinskaya, deputy director of the Department on Women Issues and Gender Issues of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs said.
"The Women's Resource Center operating in the Khazar district of Baku is part of a wider project. The purpose of establishing these centers is to expand the skills and knowledge of women living in rural areas. These centers can operate on the basis of various projects," she noted.
Talyshinskaya said that the State Committee on Family, Women and Childre Affairs is the body that implements the state's gender policy in Azerbaijan, and women's resource centers are of great importance for the implementation of this policy.
