Over 1,700 twins born in Azerbaijan this year

The number of twins and triplets born in Azerbaijan this year has been announced, Report informs, citing the Statistics Committee.
The district (city) registration offices of the Ministry of Justice recorded 61,234 births in the country in January-June this year, and compared to the same period last year, this figure per 1,000 increased from 11.3 to 12.3.
The share of boys was 52.7% and the girls – 47.3%. The number of twins was 1,726, while triplets – 87.
