Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Mubariz Gurbanli met with leaders of a number of Islamic, Christian, and Jewish religious communities of the United States, Report says, citing the state committee.
Mubariz Gurbanli, recalling meetings held during his visits to the United States, spoke about the importance of interaction.
Noting that the delegation includes well-known persons of Christian, Islamic, and Jewish confessions, the chairman of the committee compared this with interreligious harmony in Azerbaijan.
At the meeting, Mubariz Gurbanli emphasized cases of vandalism of Armenia in the territories liberated from occupation, including the destruction of ancient historical and religious monuments belonging to the Azerbaijani people.
The leaders of the religious communities noted that they value the atmosphere of tolerance and religious diversity, which they witnessed during their visits to Azerbaijan.
Noting that they visited places of religious worship in Azerbaijan, including in Agdam, Shusha, Ganja, the guests stated that diversity, as well as inclusiveness, are the priorities of the state and the Azerbaijani people.
In conclusion, the guests were presented with books in English, published by the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations.
