OIC official: Islamophobia and other forms of discrimination and violence are unacceptable

Islamophobia, like xenophobia, is unacceptable as it leads to discrimination and violence, Yousef Mohammed S. Aldobeay, Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), said at an international scientific conference "Islamophobia in Focus: Unveiling Bias, Shattering Stigmas" in Baku, Report informs.

Yousef Mohammed S. Aldobeay noted that such events promote international movement and stimulate awareness:

"Anti-Islamophobia events are very important in terms of international awareness, and Azerbaijan pays special attention to this. We thank the organizers on behalf of the OIC. Such conferences are of vital importance. The current situation necessitates expanding our cooperation.

In my opinion, we need to develop educational programs to increase awareness about such cases of discrimination. We are ready to work together in this direction with both international and regional organizations."
