Date of beginning of Muharram month announced

The start date of the month of Muharram for this year has been announced, Report informs, citing the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO).
July 30 is the first day of the month of Muharram in the Gregorian calendar.
The beginning of this month marks the beginning of the new year 1444 Hijri for Muslims.
The 10th day of Muharram month, Ashura, will be on August 8. On the day of Ashura, traditional blood donation campaigns are held.
The month of Muharram will end on August 28, and the month of Safar starting from August 29 will end on September 26.
In the first two months of the Hijri calendar (Muharram and Safar months), most Muslims in Azerbaijan don't hold wedding ceremonies.
