Zakharova highly appreciated results of Matviyenko's visit to Baku

The results of the visit of Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko to Baku on March 16-17 received high praise from both the Russian and Azerbaijani sides, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said, answering a question from a NEWS.ru correspondent, Report informs.

She noted that this visit was widely covered both in the media of the two countries and in the global media in general.

"The program was very busy. She (Valentina Matviyenko - ed.) was received by President of Azerbaijan [Ilham Aliyev], held meetings with First Vice President [Mehriban Aliyeva], Chairwoman of the Parliament [Sahiba Gafarova], and participated in the opening of the 22nd meeting of the bilateral commission on inter-parliamentary cooperation," added Zakharova.
