Ukrainian trident mounted on Mother Ukraine monument

The Ukrainian coat of arms has been installed on the Mother Ukraine monument (formerly Mother Motherland – ed.) in Kyiv to replace the dismantled Soviet emblem, Report informs referring to Ukrainska Pravda.

The trident was transported to the monument on the evening of August 5. However, due to the impossibility of fixing the coat of arms in the dark, the mounting work was postponed until the morning.

Mother Ukraine is the tallest monumental sculpture in Europe. Built in 1981, it is located on the territory of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II.

Dismantling the Soviet coat of arms on the Mother Ukraine monument is part of the Trident of the Motherland project. The project was launched in 2022.
