Ukrainian defense forces destroy 18 out of 24 Shahed drones

On the night of May 3-4, 2023, Russia again attacked Ukraine with Shahed drones launched from the north (Briansk region) and from the south – the eastern coast of the Sea of Azov. The Russians used up to 24 Shahed-136/131 combat drones.

"This time, the forces and means of the Air Force, in cooperation with the air defense units of other components of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, destroyed 18 combat UAVs," the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted on Telegram, Report informs, citing Ukrinform.

"Over the past 24 hours, the enemy launched two missile strikes, 68 airstrikes, and 67 MLRS attacks. Civilians were killed and injured, private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure objects were destroyed and damaged," General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Facebook.

"The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on conducting offensive operations in Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, and Maryinka directions – 40 enemy attacks were repelled. The fiercest battles are fought for Bakhmut and Maryinka," it added.
