Foreign Ministers of Turkey and Turkmenistan Mevlut Cavusoglu and Rashid Meredov have discussed preparations for the eighth summit of the Turkic Council to be held in Istanbul on November 12, Report informs.
Turkmenistan will participate in the summit as an observer country.
Earlier it was reported that the Turkmen president would take part in the 8th summit of the Turkic Council.
The Turkic Council was established on October 3, 2009, and its members are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkey. Hungary also participates as an observer. On November 12 in Istanbul, at the summit of the organization, which is hosted by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the chairmanship of the Turkic Council will be transferred from Azerbaijan to Turkey.
In addition, at this summit, there are plans to change the name of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking countries, which will be called the Organization of Turkic-speaking States.
