Türkiye plans to make Togg electric car global brand

Türkiye plans to begin exporting the national Togg electric car to Europe in 2024 and eventually turn it into a global brand, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacir said, Report informs referring to TRT Haber.

“Now we assemble 180-200 cars a day, in two to three weeks we plan to increase this figure to 280. For 2024, we have plans to start exporting electric cars to Europe, which is an attractive market for us, and then turn Togg into a global brand,” said the minister.

The Togg electric car was presented in Türkiye in 2019; the cars were assembled in the province of Bursa (Gemlik district) in the west of the country. Togg went on sale in Türkiye in March 2023. Turkish authorities previously announced plans to produce about 1 million electric vehicles within seven years.
