Türkiye has successfully launched its first domestic and national communication satellite, Turksat 6A, Report informs via TRT Haber.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the ceremony marking this significant achievement.
Turksat 6A underwent successful test broadcasts starting February 17, 2024. The satellite's service area will include India, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia, with an operational lifespan of at least 15 years.
With this launch, Türkiye has joined the ranks of 11 countries capable of producing communication satellites.
The satellite was launched into space on July 9, 2024, from the Cape Canaveral SpaceX launch center in Florida, the United States, aboard a Falcon 9 rocket.
