Turkish media: Progress observed in extending grain deal

There is progress on the issue of extending the grain deal, according to sources close to the Turkish president, Report informs referring to the Turkish newspaper Yeni Safak.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is expected to visit Ukraine and Russia these days, where he will discuss this issue with his colleagues.

The Black Sea Grain Initiative (grain deal), which was concluded between Türkiye, Ukraine, Russia and the UN, expired on July 17, and Moscow announced that it didn’t intend to renew its participation in it yet. At the meeting of the UN Security Council on Ukraine, most countries called for an extension of the terms of the agreement. Moscow’s exit from it not only aggravated the military situation in the Black Sea, but also created the threat of a global humanitarian crisis.
