Report informs, citing Cumhuriyet TV Channel, that the incident took place around 10:00 p.m. on November 3, four miles from the Black Sea port of Samsun. When extinguishing a fire on board the ship, the dry-cargo ship mechanic, 43-year-old citizen of Ukraine Mykhaylo Muravyov, caught fire in his clothes, and jumped into the sea.
Coast guard boats and a helicopter were dispatched to search.
The dry cargo ship carrying metal from Russia is currently moored in the port of Samsun.
