Shoigu holds talks with Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, who is on a working visit to Tehran, has held talks with Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Akbar Ahmadian, according to Fars agency, Report informs referring to TASS.

The parties discussed some aspects of the international and regional agenda, including the latest events in the South Caucasus. During the meeting, Shoigu and Ahmadian discussed “the process of developing comprehensive relations between Iran and Russia,” and also emphasized the need to combat terrorism and pointed out the negative effect that the presence of foreign forces has on the region.

On September 19, Shoigu held talks with Minister of Defense and Support of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad-Reza Gharaei Ashtiani.
