Another loss among the senior command staff of the Russian army - a major-general of the Russian Federation was killed near Kharkiv, Report informs with reference to a Facebook post of the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate (MID).
"During the fighting near Kharkiv, Vitali Gerasimov, Russian major-general, chief of staff and the first deputy commander of the 41st Army of the Central Military District of Russia, was eliminated. A number of senior officers were also killed and wounded," the report says.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, Vitali Gerasimov participated in the second Chechen war and the Russian military operation in Syria and was awarded a medal For the Return of Crimea.
