Russia hopes for the earliest possible start of construction of the Rasht-Astara railway section, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said today in Tehran during a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, Report informs.
According to Lavrov, the Russian side is satisfied that Iran is taking all necessary steps before starting construction of the Rasht-Astara railway line.
"A Russian export loan will be provided for this purpose. The Rasht-Astara section will allow us to take a very important step, since it is a part necessary for the full launch of the North-South international transport corridor," said Lavrov.
