Russia quits World Tourism Organization

Russia's Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed a directive on the country's withdrawal from the World Tourism Organization, Report informs, citing Interfax.
"Pursuant to Article 36 of the Federal Law 'On international treaties of the Russian Federation,' to accept the Russian Foreign Ministry proposal, agreed on with concerned federal executive authorities, on the withdrawal of the Russian Federation from the World Tourism Organization," the document, posted on the official portal of legal information, said.
Earlier, UNWTO Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili urged countries to support the suspension of Russia's membership due to the war in Ukraine.
