Russia and Iran will mutually cancel the visa regime for tourists traveling in groups from January 1, 2023, said Leyla Ajdari, head of the Marketing and Development Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Iran, Report informs.
According to Leyla Ajdari, a document was signed between the parties at the second meeting of the Iran-Russia technical committee on tourism.
Under the terms previously signed between the governments of Iran and Russia, from January 1, 2023, citizens of the Russian Federation and Iran will not need a visa for a visit for 15 days when they travel in groups of 5 to 50 people for tourism.
The foreign ministers of Russia and Iran signed an agreement on the matter in 2017. The agreement was supposed to enter into force in 2018. In June 2021, its draft was signed again between the relevant institutions, but it was not implemented.
