Putin challenges West to technological duel in Kyiv

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that no one has a chance to intercept the Oreshnik, the missile with a range of up to 5,500 kilometers.

According to Report, citing Russian media, he made this statement during his year-end conference.

According to Putin, if Western experts believe that Oreshnik is just an improved old Soviet weapon, then let them organize a technological duel between Russia and the West.

"If they want a technological duel, let them designate a target, for example in Kyiv, concentrate all their air defense and missile defense forces there, and we will strike with Oreshnik. We are ready for such an experiment, are they?" he proposed.

In his opinion, such a technological duel would be interesting and useful for both Russia and the US.

When asked why the new Russian missile was named Oreshnik, he replied that he didn't know the answer.
