Protests in Georgia leave parliament with $180K damage bill

The damage caused to the Parliament of Georgia during the protests in November-December 2024 amounted to about 500,000 lari (approximately $180,000), Report informs via TASS.
"The Parliament incurred damage of up to half a million lari. Of that, 130,000 lari (around $46,900) has already been spent on compensation. There are issues currently under expert review, and we are awaiting final assessments. According to our estimates, the damage caused to the Parliament of Georgia amounts to about 500,000 lari," the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, said at a briefing.
