Preparations underway for Zelensky-Putin talks, Ukraine President's Office says

The meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin is key to restoring peace, said Mykhaylo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian President's Office, in an interview with the BBC, Report informs, citing UNIAN.

Podolyak said any fundamental decision could be made only at the level of heads of state.

According to him, preparations are underway for such a meeting.

Ukraine continues contact with partners who want to organize this meeting, Podolyak said, adding that there are countries interested in ending the hot phase of the war.

The official noted that some initial documents would be prepared and given to the leaders for further assessment.

He said this would be a 'road map' for face-to-face discussions at the presidential level.

Podolyak also stressed that it is impossible to predict the date of the upcoming meeting of the heads of state.
