PKK begins to surrender weapons in northern Iraq

The former PKK terrorist organization, which has begun surrendering weapons in the city of Sulaymaniyah in northern Iraq as part of the "terror-free Türkiye" initiative, has issued a statement about the process, Report informs via Halk TV.

The supporters of the terrorist organization PKK, who call themselves the "Peace and Democratic Society Group," stated that they took this step based on Abdullah Ocalan's call on June 19.

It was underscored that the weapons were burned in front of observers monitoring the process.

As part of the a "terror-free Türkiye" initiative, the former PKK terrorist organization has begun surrendering weapons starting today, Report informs via CNN Turk.

The weapons are being surrendered in the Raperin region of Sulaymaniyah city in Iraq.

The seized weapons and ammunition are destroyed under the supervision of the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) of Türkiye.
