Peskov calls Macron's nuclear rhetoric confrontational

The Kremlin assesses yesterday's address by French President Emmanuel Macron to the nation as confrontational and creating the feeling that France is looking for a continuation of the war, Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, Report informs referring to Russian media.

"If you read Macron's speech, you get the feeling that France is really looking for a continuation of the war," he noted.

He added that there are a number of inaccuracies in Macron's statements, including in terms of the Ukrainian settlement.

"Moreover, France is already ready to use its nuclear weapons in the matter of security, etc. This is already such nuclear rhetoric, this is a claim to nuclear leadership in Europe. That is, it is very, very confrontational," he said.
