Pashinyan: Yerevan does not intend to refuse presence of Russian troops in Armenia

Yerevan does not intend to end the presence of Russian troops on the territory of Armenia, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said at the GLOBSEC 2025 forum in Prague, Report informs via Armenian media,

"You know that we have a complicated situation in the region. You mentioned the presence of Russian troops in Armenia. But I would like to note that there is also an EU monitoring mission in Armenia. Last year, we reduced the level of Russian troops' presence, but on the other hand, we currently do not have the task of ending the presence of Russian troops in Armenia. We have a different task - to be able to establish lasting and stable peace with the countries of the region," Pashinyan said.

He also noted that Armenia has no intention to severe relations with Russia.

"Now we have very close cooperation with the European Union. But on the other hand, we do not have the task of breaking relations with Russia, because our foreign policy is balanced," the Prime Minister added.
