Pashinyan criticizes reps of Armenian Apostolic Church on social media

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his wife Anna Hakobyan made harsh, derogatory statements about representatives of the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC) on their Facebook pages, Report informs referring to Armenian media.

Pashinyan published five posts, where he calls on the clergy, using obscene language, to "leave him alone", and also asks how many bishops in Armenia are celibate.

The prime minister was supported by his wife, who also accused the clergy of various sins in her posts on her page.

The Armenian government has not commented on the statements on Pashinyan's page about the church, and there have been no statements about the pages being hacked.

The prime minister's spokesperson Nazeli Baghdasaryan has not answered calls.
