Astrakhan hosted a discussion opening of business center in Baku that will significantly increase the trade turnover between the Astrakhan region and Azerbaijan.
Report informs citing the Russian press that the project to create an Astrakhan business center was considered during an event in Astrakhan focused on the Strategy for Socio-Economic Development of the region and the expansion of foreign economic relations.
Notably, the Astrakhan business center will open in Baku in the autumn of 2019. The ceremony of laying a commemorative capsule at the construction site of the future Astrakhan business center was held in December 2017. A similar Azerbaijan center was opened in Astrakhan last year.
The event also discussed the project of creating a logistics hub in the Astrakhan region as an integral part of the North-South international transport corridor. This is a project of the Azerbaijani company KDY Logistics. The new logistics center will provide uninterrupted transit of goods from Azerbaijan, Turkey and Iran to Russia and other CIS countries.
