Name of first Turkish cosmonaut revealed

The name of the first Turkish cosmonaut, who will fly into space early next year, has been announced, Report informs.

Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacir said that Alper Gezer will go into space on January 9, 2024.

The Turkish astronaut will work on the International Space Station along with astronauts from Spain, Italy and Sweden.

The journey into space will last 14 days.
